The Geoffrey Pope Building (GPB) is the central hub of the School of Biosciences, housing the administration offices, together with our state-of-the-art teaching laboratory as well as many of the School's research laboratories; being one of the tallest buildings on the Streatham campus it has magnificent views of the Exe Valley, making the walk to GPB a good start to each day.

Installation of a new Bioinformatics Computer Suite has just been completed to facilitate the rapid growth in computer use in biological sciences in the 21st Century. In addition, many of the laboratories are currently undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment programme and are to benefit from a new state-of-the-art microscopy suite (spring 2006) containing scanning and transmission electron microscopes, which will be used in both research and undergraduate research projects. The GPB lecture theatre is equipped with modern visual aids used for undergraduate teaching and the building is a very short walk from the central University Newman lecture theatre complex, to which it is linked by a covered walkway.
