Although I have managed to achieve a lot during the course of this project there are always limitations and restrictions that you must adhere to in order to bring the project to a close. This does not however mean that others cannot continue work on the subject. My Java applet is extremely capable of making complex flow calculations but would be further improved with more time intensive programming attention given to making this a larger and even more useful tool.

I have restricted my program to be able to make flow calculations on pipes that have a full flow characteristic. This affects the value of the hydraulic radius. Further programming could introduce a list of optional pipe flow types so that even more pipe networks could be investigated.

Another aspect which would require significant programming would be to allow users to enter flows in and out of the system and not to have to assume a flow rate for each pipe. To do this for this project would have taken much too long as developing code to do this for any pipe network would be arduous.

My Java applet could also be easily adapted to provide solutions to many other engineering and logistical problems. Examples such as using the applet to determine most efficient routes between oilrigs with tankers is one possible application or in fact to determine better haulage patterns for road transportation.
