BACKGROUND

Considerable research continues in decision support under ideal conditions. Real-life problems are often characterized by conditions of uncertainty and incomplete or questionable data. This 2 day Seminar is aimed at communicating advances in decision making techniques that are under development or are completed and which can be used to help solve real-life underground network problems. This Seminar will bring together practicing, experienced and younger researchers from a range of disciplines, to stimulate discussion, exchange ideas and information and for the potential drafting of EPSRC and EU proposals.

Researchers and practitioners will be given the opportunity to discuss recent and planned advances in topics such as:

bullet

stochastic methods, for use with decision support models incorporating non-standard constraint

bullet

perceived and practical problems involved when implementing  data mining techniques

bullet

actual implementation of Multi Objective Optimisation methods in real-life situation

bullet

calibration methods for use with advanced modelling techniques

Accommodation is available on the University Campus and can be booked online.
