This meeting will focus on how, when and why rites were composed, revised and recorded in the Middle Ages.
Why were rites written down and in what circumstances were revisions to rituals made?
Why were new types of liturgical books created?
Were the major monuments of liturgical history, such as the Romano-German Pontifical and the Use of Sarum, as influential as scholars have thought?
