Seagate
Seagate's recording head facility at Springtown is actively expanding its staff to meet the demands of our continuing market successes.
At the moment they are looking for Process Engineers as advertised at www.nijobs.com under reference NJ-PE/900. People with experience in a research environment as well as industry are welcome, across all the relevant science, technology and engineering disciplines.

University of Exeter
Postdoctoral Fellowship: Room Temperature Spintronics (Spin@RT)
A Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is available, for three years from
June 1st 2006, as part of a collaborative project involving the
Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the universities of Cambridge,
Durham, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, and London. You will study high
frequency spin and magnetization dynamics by means of time resolved
magneto-optical and X-ray easurements. You will have obtained a
relevant PhD and demonstrated your ability to produce articles for
publication. Experience of microwave and femtosecond magneto-optical
measurement techniques, and a background in thin film magnetism would
be of advantage.
Enquiries and applications (CV, names and addresses of three referees) to Dr R. J. Hicken (R.J.Hicken@exeter.ac.uk) by 31st March 2005.
PhD Studentship: Room Temperature Spintronics (Spin@RT)
An EPSRC funded PhD studentship is available, before the beginning of
September 2006, as part of a collaborative project involving the
Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the universities of Cambridge,
Durham, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, and London. You will use advanced
magneto-optical measurement techniques to study spin and
magnetization dynamics within room temperature spintronic structures
such as spin-valves, magnetic tunnel junctions, and magnetic
nanowires.
Enquiries and applications (CV, names and addresses of two referees) to Dr R. J. Hicken (R.J.Hicken@exeter.ac.uk).
