Staff of the EBRG

The EBRG has two academic staff members and a dedicated Research Fellow, currently working on the ESRC-funded project 'Environmental Action in and Around the Home'.

Andrew Gilg and Nicholas Ford are both highly respected and experienced academics within geography and have considerable expertise in the social sciences. Andrew's work focuses on the planning system, policy implementation and rural geography. He has been involved in projects examining farmer's behaviour both in Britain and France and has research interests in all aspects of rural geography. Nick Ford has interests in population geography, reproductive health and South East Asia. The strong policy and social science grounding of the academic staff provides the EBRG with the scope to fulfil the core aims of the group.

Stewart Barr recently completed his PhD in geography (entitled 'Factors Influencing Household Attitudes and Behaviour Towards Waste Management in Exeter, Devon') at Exeter and was a key player in obtaining the £109k grant from the ESRC for the EBRG's current project. Stewart's research interests lie in three areas: environmental behaviour, environmental citizenship and risk analysis.
