Those interested in finding out more about Sutton Common, or in finding out about other Iron Age sites in this area, should contact the South Yorkshire Archaeology Service. The Archaeology Service, which is maintained jointly by Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham & Sheffield Councils, maintains the South Yorkshire Sites & Monuments Record. This records information about known archaeological sites & finds and so is a useful place to start when beginning to research into an area's history.

The Sites & Monuments Record is available for consultation by appointment - contact the Archaeology Service on 0114 - 273 6354 or 6428, or email syorks.archservice @sheffield.gov.uk. The Archaeology Service is based in Howden House, 1 Union Street, Sheffield, S1 2SH.
