What is Eden?
The Eden project mission statement is:

'To promote the understanding and responsible management of the vital relationship between plants, people and resources leading to a sustainable future for all'.

Eden is all about education but it doesn't feel like school. The project has been to construct a botanical garden and education centre within a former china clay quarry. When building, the civil engineers required 850,000m³ of excavation and filling.
