Cleistocactus strausii

Cleistocactus strausii - 10am 14th January 19999, Laver Building

Cleistocactus strausii.

Photographed in flower on 14th January 1999 outside the Laver Building.
It is native to the Northern Argentina region of South America where it grows on the Andes at a height of between 3,000 and 4,000m.
In Argentina it is called Cola del Zoro or Tail of the Fox.
