StarGazing

Professor Brian Cox and Dara O'Briain will host three days of live stargazing featuring epic images from observatories around the globe.

The show will be broadcast on BBC2 for three nights from 3-5 January 2011. The three programme themes will be `The Solar System' , `Comets, meteors and man made objects' , and `The Sun , stars, and deep space'.

There will be free star parties and pavement astronomy sessions throughout the UK to coincide with the Quadrantid Meteor Shower and the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus.

The BBC will be offering free star gazing guides and maps to encourage budding astronomers to get out there and start looking up. Astrophotographers are welcome to submit images to share on line, the best of which will be showcased live on air.

The event will take place at our Open Evening on Monday 3rd January 2011, from 7.30 pm

The event is sponsored by BBC and is FREE, however donations are gratefully accepted.
