Using SMS in economics lectures

Head of student learning and senior teaching fellow Juliette Stephenson has been trialling the use of SMS texts in lectures on her module The Philosophy of Economics. During lectures, students texted questions to a PAYG phone linked via Bluetooth to the presentation PC. Texting was anonymous to encourage participation from all students and their phone numbers were stored or shared.
