Ph.D. at the University of Exeter. I am working on a patent for a new recuperative slurry ice

generator which can produce slurry ice reliably and efficiently.

2002

Mechanical Engineering chartering exams

2001-2002

Master in Engineering (MEng EUR) at the University of Exeter,  

Research project on high efficiency refrigeration plants for industrial purposes.

Further I did feasibility studies on a new slurry-icemaker for thermal energy storage.

1995-2002

Mechanical Engineering Laurea  at the University of Modena

I studied courses such as Power generation devices, Energy management, Industrial plants,

Thermodynamics and heat transfer, Structural analysis, Machinery designing, Fluid machines

and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

Further I took some modules of Economics and ‘Time and motion studies’.

During my studies in Modena I did project work on the design of air conditioning

for a large church and the ventilation of a computer case using CFD.

I worked on stress analysis in a steel support bar using FEM.

Employment:

2003

Design Engineer. For a few months before beginning my PhD I worked for a consultant

in Vicenza (IT). I was in charge of dimensioning and designing service plants such as

heating and air conditioning. I worked on projects for private houses, residential areas,

and larger buildings such as schools, supermarkets, etc.

1999-2003

Teacher. I used to teach chemistry, maths and physics privately to high school students.

I also taught structural analisys and building static in a private preparatory school

for University students.

Other works: sales assistant in a Hi-Fi store; Musician in restaurants, hotels and discos;

as part of the compulsory civil service I worked in a youth information office and

in the administrative department of a large district library.
