This page will outline the basics of meshing within Gambit for use within Fluent, however the general techniques can be used to help create meshes within all preprocessing codes. For any given mesh it is important that firstly the order in which edges, faces and volumes are meshed is kept to allow for repeatability. That each mesh is checked to see whether it is properly representing the terrain / control volume it is modeling. That the mesh elements strike a balance between being small to increase accuracy and being large to decrease computational time.
