CAMRAs LocAle initiative aims to promote locally brewed beer in local pubs. The scheme builds on growing consumer demand for local produce and greater awareness of green issues.

By drinking local beer, you are:

investing in the local economy
reducing beer miles which reduces traffic congestion and pollution and
adding to local pride and identity

You also have a wide choice of excellent beers to choose from the local brewers in our Branch area and those just over the border.

The LocAle scheme was started by CAMRAs Nottingham branch and is now being adopted by other CAMRA branches in the UK. LocAle pubs are seeing increased sales of local beer as a result of accreditation.

LocAle Accreditation

Pubs in our branch area can be accredited if they always stock at least one local ale in good drinkable condition. We define local to be within 30 miles of the pub by road.
