Major Research Interests & Current Projects My research focuses on molecular evolution and comparative eukaryotic cell biology,in particular molecular evolution of microsporidia parasites. Adaptation of parasite cells to the intracellular environment and study of function and form of remnant mitochondria in parasite cells. Use of comparative genomics and phylogenetics to study parasite evolution. Development of cell compartment markers to understand the structure of the parasite cell. |
