Project aims and objectives

The aims of this systematic review are:-

  • Create an indexed bibliography and perform a systematic review of the factors influencing accrual to clinical trials.
  • Report on accrual into Phase III trials from the UK, highlighting those performed successfully within the NHS.
  • Provide guidelines for achieving recruitment targets.
  • Review the literature on clinical and patient attitudes and motivation.
  • Provide a baseline from which to measure the effect of future interventions.
  • Recommend areas for further study.
  • Improve recruitment into cancer clinical trials.
