Amory Plasma Screen - Creating Slides

Slides for use on the Amory plasma screen need to be JPG images, and should be 960 x 720 pixels in size. They can be created in any graphics package, or using PowerPoint by following the instructions below.

When designing slides for use on the plasma screen remember that the Amory foyer is quite a large area, so any text needs to be large in order to be legible. Don't try to fit too much information onto the slide.

Creating slides using PowerPoint

In PowerPoint, from the "File" menu select "Page Setup" (in Office 2010 this can be found on the Design tab)
Make sure that "Slides sized for:" is set to "On-screen show (4:3)" and that the slide orientation is set to "Landscape". Click "OK"
Design your slide in the normal way in PowerPoint. It is important to only use static content - don't use any animations or transitions
To save the file as a JPG:
- From the "File" menu select "Save As..."
- In the "Save as type" box, select "JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)"
- Give the file a name and click "Save"
- Unless you are creating multiple slides, select "Current Slide Only" when prompted.
The default size for slides saved from PowerPoint in this way is 960 x 720 pixels, so there is no need to do anything else to the slide.
